In need of a lift....
West Ham failed me today, like they failed all of their fans.
I had come from the hospital after visiting my dad who is laying unconscious in ITU after contracting bacterial meningitis. He has been in a coma for 4 days. He hasn't given up though and I certainly haven't either.
When Arnie scoredI for just a couple of minutes I thought that the Irons were going to give me a boost at a time that I really needed it.
I even predicted a 1-0 win for us today. I guess I should have known better.
We will be back though and I hope that dad will be able to join me for another Irons game soon.
Get well dad and COYI.

I'm going from Sittingbourne to Detling via Chatham in about 9 hours. Feel free to jump in if you need a lift.

Sorry to hear that mate, I hope dad recovers quickly.

If West ham did do lifts they would do a shitty stannah that got you half way up and stopped, and that would be if it was working well.

Thanks all for your comments and good wishes.
All very much appreciated. And indeed, why oh why did I think
I might get a lift from the Irons. I really should know better after
supporting them for nearly 50 years.

Good luck mate, I had a nasty bacterial disease last year, So I know how bacterial diseases are treated, I looked up your fathers' disease and it should be the same treatment basically intravenous mass antibiotics Cefotaxime or ceftriaxone plus Vancomycin. Hope he is getting that now

All the best with it mate

Re: In need of a lift....
Mate, we've got to stop this expecting West Ham to give us a bit of a lift when we're down stuff.

Think of ALL the dead Hammers mad dads (including mine) who'd blow the ball into the back of the net were that stuff true. No, West Ham will always twist the knife a bit when you don't feel things could get much worse. It's the only thing you can rely on them for!

Best wishes to you and your dad and I hope he pulls through okay. I lost my old man to cancer last Christmas and it does put a new slant on things. You are better off than me because where's there's life there's hope. All the best.
